PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source monitor circuit and method for preventing damages to equipment, even if an AC voltage other than a rated frequency is inputted. SOLUTION: A power source monitor circuit is provided with a monitor circuit 12 for detecting the AC voltage of an AC power source 2 for supplying an AC voltage to a transformer 4, and for determining whether the frequency of the AC voltage is a rated frequency and a relay 11 arranged on a main line 3 for supplying the AC voltage from the AC power source 2 to the transformer 4, whose opening and closing is controlled by the monitor circuit 12. Even through when the AC voltage is the rated frequency, the monitor circuit 12 closes the relay 11 so that the AC voltage can be supplied to the transformer 4, when the AC voltage other than the rated frequency, the monitor circuit 12 opens the relay 11, and an AC voltage will not be supplied to the transformer 4.
