PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal fixing device where recording material is surely separated from a thermal fixing roller without winding round the roller through the supply amount of releasing oil is very small and to provide an image forming device by which an excellent fixed image is formed with very high producitivity. SOLUTION: This thermal fixing device is equipped with the thermal fixing roller and a pressing roller and thermally fixes a toner image on the recording material by carrying the recording material on the one surface of which the toner image is formed while holding it between the rollers, and is equipped with an oil supply means for supplying the releasing oil to the thermal fixing roller in a rate that the applying amount of the releasing oil to the recording material of A4 size is <=5 mg.
