PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surveying instrument provided with a zoom eyepiece. SOLUTION: A collimating telescope for an automatic level is provided with an objective lens system L1. The telescope is provided with an erecting optical system L2, which makes image formed by the objective lens system L1 erect and which is used also for a correction device. The telescope is provided with an ocular optical system, with which an erected image formed by the erecting optical system L2, is observed to be overlapped with a focal plate L3. The ocular optical system is used as the zoom eyepiece 21.
