PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire grate capable of suppressing a generation of a burning damage with an excellent cooling efficiency. SOLUTION: A plurality of standing walls 38 extended longitudinally (in front and rear directions) of fire grates 12, 14 are erected on a rear surface from an upper wall 31 to a front wall 32. A cover member 39 made of a stainless steel alloy formed in a substantially J shape is fixed in a state in which the walls 38 are contacted. The member 39 is formed at a gap 40 of a predetermined interval between its end and a surface of a lower wall 35. Its rear end is mounted so as to be contacted with a side wall 41 stood so as to connect side walls 34 on a rear surface of the wall 31. In a state in which the member 39 is mounted, the gap 40 is disposed at a rear surface side of a lower side part of the wall 32, and formed of a rear surface from the wall 31 to the wall 32, the walls 38 and the member 39. Thus, a plurality of spaces extended longitudinally of the grates 12, 14 are formed, and the plurality of the spaces respectively constitute passages 42 in the fire grates.
