PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooled nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) probe head by which a temperature grade in the z-axis direction is reduced without spoiling an NMR measurement. SOLUTION: The NMR probe head is composed by providing a radio- frequency (RF) receiving coil device which can be cooled to a cryogenic temperature. The probe head is composed by providing a room-temperature pipe 4 which is extended to the z-axis direction and which houses a sample tube 6 containing a sample substrate to be inspected by the NMR measurement. A centering means is installed so that the sample tube 6 in a measuring position is centered around the axis of the room-temperature pipe 4. Thereby, the temperature gradient in the z-axis direction can be reduced simple without spoiling the NMR measurement.
