PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device that can reduce distortion of digital data by a POTS(Plain Old Telephone service) cal signal of a phone signal sent at the same time when the digital data are sent through a single line. SOLUTION: In order to reduce distortion of digital data due to on/off switching of a call by a signal (RINGING 1, RINGING 2) of a plain old telephone service(POTS) sent through a single line (LINE) at the same time when the data are sent, the phone call signal generator (POT-RING GENERATOR 1, POTS RING GENERATOR 2) generates a digital data friendly call signal. The telephone call signal generator applies a transient smoothing window (WIN DOW 1, WINDOW 2) to a sing waveform signal or a cosine waveform signal (SINE 1, SINE 2).
