PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which short-circuit between a battery element and a lead is prevented, and also the lead can be easily bent. SOLUTION: A flat laminated type battery element 1 is interposed between armored members 2, 3, by joining their peripheries 2a, 3a to seal the battery element 1. The battery element 1 is provided by laminating a plurality of unit cells. Tabs 4a, 4b of each unit cell are bundled to form terminal portions, to which leads 21 are joined. This lead 21 is provided with insulated coating 20. At portions where the lead is bent, a recess 18 or breaks 19 are provided on this insulated coating 20.
