PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system to enable reference of a created area after creating the area and to enable automatic initialization of the area after restart of a system in creation and initialization of the area of a hard disk device. SOLUTION: The creation and initialization of the area of the hard disk device 6 are automatically performed by automatically executing a program to perform the creation and initialization of the area stored in a system execution program storage part 71 and discriminating whether or not the area is created by reading a label 611 for initialization of a hard disk of a volume label storage part 61 of the hard disk device 6 after execution of the program to perform the creation and initialization of the area by a central processing unit 1.
