PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuning device which has simple constitution and high durability and allows the efficient and easy execution of tuning and a tuning appliance used for the same. SOLUTION: A tuning in 10 consisting of a sectionally circular shape and having a taper in a longitudinal direction is driven into a tapered through-hole 6a of a plate 6. This pin is formed with a cruciform groove 13 at the front end on a small-diameter side and the pipe-like part of a tuning wrench is fitted to the front end of the pin. A fine pin is engaged with the cruciform groove 13 and a string 9 is wound around the pin. A rough surface 10b is formed at the pin 10 in correspondence to the through-hole 6a to increase the friction force of fitting.
