PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash lamp wherein the structure is simple, maintenability is excellent, life is long and efficiency and output power are high. SOLUTION: A partial reflection mirror 2 and a total reflection mirror 3 are arranged on both sides of a cylindrical condenser reflection mirror 1, and a columnar laser medium 4 is inserted in the center of the cylindrical condenser reflection mirror 1. In the cylindrical condenser reflection mirror 1, n-pieces of sheet-shaped divided electrode 12 whose surface is planished are aligned on an electrode attaching surface 11 formed on an inner wall mirror surface, leaving slight spaces (a) along the axial direction, and the cylindrical condenser reflection mirror 1 is closely fixed via a sheet- shaped insulating member 13. At an outer periphery of the cylindrical condenser reflection mirror 1, a double wall (c) is formed, and the divided electrodes 12 closely in contact with a wall surface are cooled by making cooling water (d) flow to a part between the double wall (c). On the outside of the double wall (c), a plurality of rod- shaped magnets 14 are closely fixed along the spaces (a) of the divided electrodes 12, and a multipole magnetic field wherein parts between the divided electrodes 12 are connected by magnetic lines of force is formed. The outside of the double wall (c) on which the magnets 14 are attached is covered with a magnetic shield plate 15.
