SOLUTION: In a transmissive color liquid crystal display element the area of blue pixels of the liquid crystal display element is 1.1-2.4 times as large as respective areas of a red pixel and a green pixel. In particular. If the color temperature of the backlight is expressed as TL and the area ratio of the blue pixel to the respective red and green pixels is expressed as SB, inequalities 1.7<=SB<2.4 when 5,000K<=TL<6,500K (1), 1.1<=SB<1.6 when 6,500K<=TL<8,000K (2) and 1.1<SB<1.4 when 8,000K<=TL<=9,500K (3) are desirably held. |
