PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize and enable to secure energy saving in lighting device, particularly, fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: By utilizing the afterimage time of the retina of a human being, a higher voltage a little raised than the rated voltage of a lighting lamp is given and the luminous intensity is raised for an instant so that the eyes feel brighter. And then immediately after brighter feeling, the voltage of the lighting is turned 'off' and again the voltage is turned 'on' before they feel darker. As the afterimage time of the human eyes is relatively long, the saving of electric power by 'off' time is larger in total than the electric power loss by giving higher voltage, thereby achieving energy saving. |
