PURPOSE: A method for providing a personal information management service through a communication network is provided to prevent leakage of personal information and to offer a personal information managing service economically by storing personal information in a database server through the Internet network and providing the stored personal information to a user through a phone. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a communication exchange for managing personal information using a communication terminal through the first communication network for receiving a personal information managing service(S1). The communication exchange recognizes a telephone number of the communication terminal being connected thereto by receiving an automatic number identification service(S2). A database server for managing personal information searches the recognized telephone number and detects whether the telephone number and a password are registered(S3,S4). If the telephone number and the password are not registered, the calling is cut-off(S5,S6). If the telephone number and the password are registered, an input of the password is requested(S7). If the user inputs a password, the password is transmitted to the communication exchange(S8). The database server receives the password from the communication exchanger and the password is compared with a pre-stored password(S9). If the password is approved, the communication exchange transmits a guide message for the user to select wanted service menu out of various personal information managing service menu(S11). If the user selects a wanted service menu(S12), the communication exchanger and the database server provides a personal information managing service(S13).
