PURPOSE: A device and a method for protecting recording information of a computer are provided to protect information being recorded in a hard disk and a CMOS etc. of a computer from a raid of a non-approval user using a hardware or a virus. CONSTITUTION: A mother board(110) includes a microprocessor, a memory, a BIOS, and an expansion slot etc. A fingerprint scanner(120) scans human body fingerprint data and inputs as a certifying information. A security card(130) stores a protecting program executed through the BIOS of the mother board(110) at a booting, and protects specific recording information as recording information of a hard disk being managed by the mother board(110) and CMOS recording information from a raid of hardware command as a deletion, a contents changing of a non-approval user or a virus based on a propriety of the fingerprint being inputted through the fingerprint scanner(120) when the protecting program is executed. The security card(130) is connected and installed in an extension slot of the mother board(110).
