PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of eliminating the influence of a two-field cycle component (field flicker) in a noise component superimposed on the contrast signal of a so-called imager AF concerning an image pickup device having the AF for acquiring focusing information by analyzing the output image signal of an imaging device. SOLUTION: This device has a solid-state imaging device having a two-dimensional photoelectric converting part and a charge discharging part and a signal reading means for repeatedly executing signal reading from the photoelectric converting part by driving the solid-state imaging device and the signal reading means reads the pixel charges of a specified cyclic line, which is the object to use, among plural lines comprising the photoelectric converting part and discharges the pixel charges of the other line groups, which are not the object to use, to the charge discharging part. |
