PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball valve capable of preventing popping of a ball and union without generating lowering of strength of a valve body. SOLUTION: This ball valve in which a ball 2 capable of opening/closing a flow passage is arranged within a valve body 1, ball seats 4 are abutted on the ball 2 from both sides of the flow passage and both the ball seats 4, 4 are pressed on female screws 12, 12 provided on inner peripheral surfaces on both opening end sides of the valve body 1 by ball presses 5 into which male screws 51 provided on the outer peripheral surfaces are screwed toward the ball 2 is a ball valve V in which the inside diameter of an end part on the downstream side of the valve main body 1 is made smaller than the inside diameter of an end part on the upstream side and the outside diameter of a ball press 51L screwed into an inner peripheral surface of the end part on the downstream side of the valve body 1 is made smaller than the outside diameter of a ball press 51U screwed into an inner peripheral surface of the end part on the upstream side.
