PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of the end face-reflected wave of a surface acoustic wave filter device by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A surface acoustic wave 16 propagating in the direction of end surfaces 12 and 13 is reflected by a groove 15a and a groove 15b adjacent to it and then, enters the face 13. The surface acoustic wave made incident on the face 13 in this way is reflected again by these grooves and then emitted in the direction of the opening part of an output-side converter 5. Since the surface acoustic wave reflected by these grooves 15a and 15b is attenuated remarkably, it gives little adverse effects to a main wave.
