PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod knitting needle which is lightweight, capable of readily handling, has good balance and is capable of readily carrying out fine operation and further inexpensive regardless of thick and long rod knitting needle. SOLUTION: This rod knitting needle is obtained by closing the base end of a knitting needle body 1 using a hollow cylinder member and fixing a tapered top head part 2 as other member to the top of the knitting needle body 1.
