<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an address inspection system adopted by a network unit that detects an inadequate network address of an IP address set to a communication terminal so as to early solve a communication defect due to the setting of the IP address. SOLUTION: The network unit reads an IP address and its sub net mask for management by a communication interface or an SNMP set to its own unit to calculate a network address, sets it as an inspection memory address and an inspection sub net mask, specifies an ARP packet among received packets, reads a sender IP address from the ARP packet, uses the inspection sub net mask from the read IP address to calculate the network address, inspects the network address by comparing the network address with the inspection network address, displays the information of the result of inspection on its own device or informs a network management unit by using the SNMP when the result of inspection indicates inadequacy.</p> |
