PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical secondary battery that accommodates a coiled electrode body inside a battery can, has a compact and simple configuration without increasing man-hour for assembling and can impregnate electrolyte in a short time as well. SOLUTION: To a closure 12 constituting the battery can 1 of the cylindrical secondary battery, a gas discharge valve 5 to function when inner pressure of the battery can 1 exceeds a prescribed value is fixed by screwing into a threaded hole 15 provided on the closure 12. The gas discharge valve 5 is composed of a cylindrical valve seat 51 provided with an external thread 52 screwed into the threaded hole 15 of the closure 12, and a clad disk 4 fixed to the end of the said valve seat 51. The clad disk 4 consists of a ring member 41 welded to the open edge of the valve seat 51 and a metal film 42 clad on a single face of the said ring member 41. |
