PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required till reheating without increasing power consumption so much by setting a new power consumption mode in a sleep mode. SOLUTION: In this temperature controller for the fixing device of a laser printer equipped with a heater for heating either roller of the fixing device, a surface temperature detection part detecting the surface temperature of the roller, a timer part measuring optional time and a temperature control part controlling so that heating the roller by the heater is stopped so as to shift to the sleep mode when the fixed time measured by the timer part elapses from a standby state after finishing printing; the temperature control part controls energizing the heater and stopping it so that the surface temperature of the roller may be maintained between optional temperature Ha higher than sleep temperature H3 and standby temperature H2 in the sleep mode. |
