PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always set an optimum engaging force command value for a friction element, regarding a creeping force control device for an automatic transmission for a vehicle. SOLUTION: When the formation of a releasing condition for releasing a creeping force lowering state is decided by a decision means 31, a ratio (rotational speed ratio) Ns of input rotational speed Nt of the automatic transmission to engine speed Ne is detected by a rotational speed ratio detection means 30. By an engaging force command value setting means 32, an engaging force command value D for the friction element is set based on the rotational speed ratio Ns when the formation of the releasing condition is decided.
