PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior flat-type battery module using nonaqueous secondary battery that is prevented from lowering energy density and has a high security possible to obviate such accident as ignition or explosion in emergency. SOLUTION: The battery module loads a plurality of unit cell sheets 10 by disposing the parallel inside an armored container 11 and the these plural unit cells 10 are electrically connected. The armored container 11 has a plurality of striated guides 12 that can guide at least a peripheral part of the said unit cell on facing walls inside of the said armored container 11 so that the plural unit cells 10 can be disposed in parallel at a necessary interval. The striated guides 12 are constituted so that the unit cells 10 can break away from the guides 12 when the unit cells 10 swell to mutually push themselves in their thickness direction.
