PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording and reproducing device capable of storing effectively the signal written in the device until the operation of the device is stopped while maintaining the reliability of the device even when a writing operation is interrupted by the abnormality of ambient temperature. SOLUTION: When the writing operation of information signal is stopped by the abnormality of ambient temperature, two-stage reference temperature ranges are provide in this device, even when ambient temperature exceeds the first temperature range and it does not exceeds a next range which includes the first range and is provided at the outer side of the range, a management signal is prepared as to a signal which is written on a recording medium before the temperature exceeds the first range and after the signal is written on the recording medium, the writing operation is stopped.
