PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable restriction of access of a host system to user data in a storage device with respect to the storage device to be attachably/detachably connected with the host system. SOLUTION: Authentication data for access control to be used in judgment of propriety of the access of the host system to the user data in the storage device are created in cooperation with the storage system and the host system and stored in both. And the storage device controls the access of the host system to the user data in the storage device based on the authentication data for access control stored in the host system and the authentication data for access control stored in the storage device in the case of judgment of the propriety of the access.
