PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust dynamic pressure bearing causing no increase in cost without providing a complicated small hole, etc., capable of preventing negative pressure suction caused at the time of starting rotation and capable of normally functioning it as the thrust dynamic pressure bearing. SOLUTION: Working fluid L for dynamic pressure generation is sealed in a clearance 3 and 4 between a rotor 1 formed with a thrust dynamic pressure groove on the end surface and the housing 2 for storing the rotor 1 in a closed state. Pockets 1P, 2P to be spaces to respectively reserve working fluid are formed on an end surface 1a of the rotor 1 and an end surface 2a of the housing 2 facing this end surface 1a. The sum of capacity of these pockets is to be more than 50 times of capacity of the bearing clearance 3 between the end surface of the rotor 1 and the end surface of the housing 2. This bearing clearance 3 is reduced in a tilting state toward the outside in the diametrical direction.
