Cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions in the form of solid aqueous gels having a modulus of linear constraint of 5,000 - 50,000 Pascals, comprise polyvinyl alcohol having units of formula (I) and optionally of formula (II). Those of formula (II) being 5 % at most, together with at least one water-miscible compound capable of decreasing the solubility of the polyvinyl alcohol in water. |
