PURPOSE: A method and system for managing personal information on a computer network is provided to manage personal information effectively on a computer network. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a personal information managing site through a computer network and joins to the site(100). If the user displays an intention for joining to the membership(101), an information managing server requests an input of a personal information, and the user must input one's personal information(102). As the one's personal information to be requested, an ID, a password, and user's taste etc. are used. If the input of the one's personal information is completed(103), a specific inherent identifier is embodied in the inputted personal information and the inherent identifier is stored in a personal information database(104).
