PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety of a battery system by preventing damage due to the battery from being expanded by avoiding spread of the fire, in case of fire from the outside. SOLUTION: With the battery system equipped with a battery container with a safety valve containing one or a plurality of batteries, a temperature sensor, and a fire extinguisher, the temperature sensor detects temperature outside the battery container and brings the fire extinguisher into operation before the safety valve of the battery is activated, to have the surroundings of the battery in an uninflammable atmosphere.
