PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently measure with high accuracy the width of cracks generated in concrete or the like. SOLUTION: A floodlight projection part for irradiating a detection light R and a light detection part 15 are provided to the undersurface 11a of a housing 11, and a rotary encoder 12 for generating a reference signal, connected to a measuring roller 13 by a rotary belt 23, a measurement analysis circuit 20 for performing analytical operation of the width of a crack to output the measured result to a seven-segment display part 16 and a power supply part are provided in the housing to constitute a crack width-measuring instrument 10. The measuring roller 13 of the crack width measuring instrument 10 while being brought into contact with the surface Ka of concrete and to rotate, is moved so as to traverse the crack C to measure the width of the crack.
