The control method regulates the currents supplied to the coil windings (4a,5a) of 2 electromagnets (4,5), positioned on either side of a movable armature (3), held in a central rest position via a pair of opposing springs (7,8). The winding of the capture magnet is supplied with a pulsed current after release of the holding current of the opposing magnet and before switching in the holding current of the capture magnet, with evaluation of the current characteristic of the capture magnet.
