<p>The invention relates to the field of gut-(patho)physiology and is in particular related to the intestinal uptake of fluids, electrolytes and (macro)molecules. The invention provides a method for determining molecular transport through an intestinal wall or segment thereof comprising up- or down-regulating oxygen supply to said wall or segment. Herewith, the invention provides a methodology for evaluation of the effects of (components of) foods, drinks and speciality foods or drinks related to various different hemodynamic states of a person who consumes the food or drink.</p> |
