A displacement sensor using a light-section method and utilizing a two-dimensional imaging device comprises a group of light-receiving pixels arranged in a matrix corresponding to the field of view of a standard imaging device, vertical shift registers arranged in rows, and horizontal shift registers for receiving the output from the vertical shift registers of each row sequentially, in order from the first one to the end, wherein an optical black area is provided for the group of light-receiving pixels and a photosensitive pixel area having a width sufficiently narrower than the total number of horizontal lines corresponding to an elongated rectangular field of view is formed. The shift registers are driven according to charge transfer specifications and the time required to read out the charge of one screen is shortened by eliminating read out of charge from the optical black pixel area entirely or partially or reading out the charge at a high speed.
|
