The square-wave signal modification device is designed as part of a system providing improved and faster recording of information on optical discs or other recording mediums and includes a write (record) device having a record section in the vicinity of a recording medium. A flexible signal transmission path section is connected to the record section and forms a feature of HF-signal components damping. A square wave signal transmission medium is provided in the main surface element section in order to supply a first square wave signal at the end of the signal transmission path section, and a wave form modification medium receives a second square wave signal for the other end of the signal transmission path section and modifies its waveform so that a level of the waveform is lifted for a given first time period at a time point in the vicinity of a rise of the second square wave signal.
