The fused switching device has a housing (1) with an opening fitted with a switch cover (5), receiving a replaceable fuse (3) for providing an electrical connection path between 2 spaced terminals (2,7) when the switch cover is fitted to the housing. At least one separation device, e.g. a wedge element, is operated for cooperating with both the switch cover and the housing and exerting a different force on each.
