<p>A method and system for improving the registration process in a communication system, preferably an all IP communication system, wherein a set of Location Registration (LR) nodes are designed to handle mobile registration locally. When the mobile node registers with the home network from a foreign network, a Location Registration chain is established through these nodes. The information needed for the mobile node to access the network is distributed to these nodes from the home network. When the mobile node roams into a different visiting network or returns to its home network, the nearby location registration nodes then process the mobile registration and update the location chain accordingly.</p> |
