1,040,944. Withdrawing objectionable fumes. ELECTROLUX A.B. June 18, 1963 [June 18, 1962], No. 24174/63. Heading F4W. An oven 1 is mounted in and spaced from a recess in a wall or cupboard 3, an upper ventilation channel 5 housing a shield 6 provided with an inclined front flange 7, which shield is arranged to slide in the channel 5. The shield is provided with side edges or guide bars 8 extending perpendicularly of the shield. With the shield pulled out; Fig. 4 (not shown), vapours from the open oven are collected by the shield and delivered to a suction duct 9. Cooling air flows through channels 4 to the duct 9. In a modification, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), the suction duct is dispensed with and the shield is arranged with the flange 7 upwardly inclined so that the cooling air which flows through channels 4 and 5 is directed upwardly by flange 7 to protect the wall above the recess from oven vapours which are deflected outwardly by the flange 7. |
