An air conditioner for a car, comprising an evaporator, an air mixing door, and a heater core disposed in a unit case in order from the front to rear of a vehicle, wherein a tube part to avoid it from interfering with a steering member extending in lateral direction of the vehicle is formed in the unit case, the tube part is positioned in an air path leading from the evaporator to the heater core nearly at the vertical middle position of the vehicle, and the unit case is divided into a front case part storing the evaporator and a rear case part storing the heater core through the tube part.
