The invention concerns an automatic water dispenser consisting in an apparatus which, at all times, provides water to users of public fountains, namely to communities in developing countries. It is coin-operated using as only means of energy gravity generated by the water in its tank, by means of a mechanism comprising a double stop floater, a counterweight with a notched shaft; a filler valve and a drain valve. The tokens used for operating said apparatus are adapted so as to protect them from being stolen by breaking and to facilitate the work of operators not requiring stacking and making deposits of small coins at the bank.
