<p>A polycarboxylic acid ingredient comprising, as the main component, one or more alkyltetrahydrophthalic acids consisting of a 3-alkyltetrahydrophthalic acid having a cis/trans isomer ratio of 1/4 to 1/2 by weight or its anhydride and a 4-alkyltetrahydrophthalic acid or its anhydride in a weight ratio of 60/40 to 100/0 is condensation-polymerized with a polyhydric alcohol ingredient to obtain a polyester having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000 to 200,000 and a hydroxyl value of 20 to 200 mgKOH/g. By adding the polyester to a base polymer such as a polyolefin resin or rubber, the adhesion of a coating material or adhesive to the base polymer can be improved.</p> |
