A connector comprises a terminal (3) and a connector housing (2) having a terminal accommodation chamber (4). The terminal (3) has elastic curled portions (25) that are substantially crest shaped in cross section. A lance (5) for engaging the terminal (3) is formed in the terminal accommodation chamber (4), and tapered portions (22) along which the elastic curled portions (25) slide are formed on the lance (5).
