PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an electrostatic driving type ink jet head in a small size. SOLUTION: The ink jet head 1 is in a three-layer structure of an electrode glass substrate 11, a cavity substrate 12 and a nozzle substrate 13. A recessed section 21 for an ink pressurizing chamber is formed on the cavity substrate 12. A nozzle groove 22 for an ink nozzle, a recessed section 24 for a common ink chamber and a via-hole 23 for supplying ink and for coupling the common ink chamber 6 to each of the ink pressurizing chambers 4 are formed on the nozzle substrate 12 that is laminated on the cavity substrate 12. The common ink chamber 6 is vertically provided with respect to each of the ink chambers 4 in the thickness direction of the head. As a result of the above structure, it is possible to reduce the dimension in the length direction Y of the head. As the recessed section for the common ink chamber is formed on the nozzle substrate 12, it is possible to provide a common ink chamber 4 without adding an extra substrate and to prevent the increasing of the dimension in the thickness direction of the head, thereby achieving a small sized ink jet head as a whole.
