PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooking device for controlling the period of soaking rice in water in the reserved operation. SOLUTION: The rice cooking device has a feed-water pump 11 for discharging water in a detachable water tank 10 to a rice cooker 1, a rice storage part 12 fixed in a main body 8 of the device, a rice inlet valve 13 for opening/ closing a rice outlet of the rice storage part 12, a lid closing means 14 and lid opening means 18 for opening/closing a lid 4 of the rice cooker 1 mounted inside the main body 8, a control means 15 for controlling each drive means, and a communication means for transmitting data between the rice cooker 1 and the main body 8. Therefore, the period of soaking rice in water can be controlled because neither rice nor water is put into a pot 2 till prescribed time before the start of rice cooking, and a rice cooking condition can be determined with a regular period of soaking rice in water in the reserved operation.
