PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering control device capable of enhancing a steering feel by imparting an appropriate driving force to a steering mechanism according to the steering tendency of each driver during cornering. SOLUTION: A histogram originating part 44 originates a histogram of steering angleθ(or steering angular velocity) and a peak steering angleθp (or peak steering angular velocityθ'p) corresponding to a peak in the histogram is detected. An assist characteristic changing part 43 compares the peak steering angleθp (or peak steering angular velocityθ'p) with a reference value in magnitude and changes an assist characteristic at an assist control part 41 according to the comparison result. The assist control part 41 sets a desired current value I according to the assist characteristic which is the characteristic of the desired current value I of an electric motor 50 with respect to steering torque T. Based on the desired current value I, the electric motor 50 is controlled by a motor control part 42.
