PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric power steering device capable of surely preventing a drop of source voltage by anticipating the drop of the source voltage and producing an idle-up command. SOLUTION: A motor 6 is provided which outputs an assist force based on an assist current control value computed from both an assist current command value computed on the basis of the rotary torque of a steering wheel 1 and the motor current value of the motor 6. A CPU 21 is provided to differentiate the assist current command value and also to determine whether or not the differential of the assist current command value is equal to or greater than a differential threshold. When determining that the differential is equal to or greater than the differential threshold, the CPU 21 produces the idle-up command.
