PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems on conventional sanitary napkin that, when menstrual blood sticks to leakproof side walls, the menstrual blood stagnates there, causes side leakage and gives a flapping feel to the wearing person's skin. SOLUTION: Both sides in the transverse direction of a sanitary napkin are provided with leakproof side walls 5. The side walls 5 are formed by two- folding side wall sheets 6 free ends 5c. The side wall sheets 6 have rugged wrinkles 7 and are provided with flat parts 8a in the intermediate parts between base ends 5b and free ends 5c. Holes 11 are formed at the boundary parts between the rugged wrinkles 7 and the flat parts 8a and the menstrual blood enters the inside of the leakproof side walls 5 from these holes 11. As a result, the menstrual blood does not stagnate any more on the front surfaces on the inner side of the leakproof side walls 5.
