<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technique for recovering fuel gas, electric power, heat energy or the like in a useful form to reutilize them by treating an organic substance-containing waste water with a high gasification efficiency (a technique for remaking the organic substance-containing waste water resources). SOLUTION: A method of simultaneously effecting waste water treatment and fuel gas production has (1) a step of subjecting an organic substance- containing waste water to heating/pressurizing treatment in the presence of a catalyst in a reactor while maintaining the waste water at a temperature of>=100 deg.C and, at the same time, under a pressure which retains at least part of the waste water in a liquid phase to effect wet methanation reaction treatment, (2) a step of carrying out gas-liquid separation of a gas-liquid mixed phase formed in step (1) to collect a gas having methane as the major component, and (3) a step of circulating at least part of the high temperature liquid phase to be obtained in step (2) to mix with the organic substance-containing waste water of step (1).</p> |
