PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for treating an organic chlorine compound capable of easily and sufficiently decomposing and removing the organic chlorine compound such as dioxins contained in the matter to be treated, especially in the inorganic solid matter, and capable of reducing treating cost. SOLUTION: The method for treating the organic chlorine compound is appropriately performed by using a treating device 1 provided with a dissolving tank 11 to which the matter W to be treated containing the inorganic solid matter containing the organic chlorine compound is supplied and a solid-liquid separation tank 12, UV rays radiating parts 21 and 22 and an adsorption tank 31 provided in order at the following stage of the dissolving tank 11, and the method is provided with a dissolving stage for dissolving the inorganic solid matter to an acid A and a decomposing/removing stage for decomposing and/or removing the organic chlorine compound in the acid solution Wa in which the inorganic solid matter is dissolved.
