PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology in which a method for forming a dot can be altered between dye ink and pigment ink. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a print head having a plurality of nozzles and a plurality of ejection drive elements and forming N kinds of dots of different size selectively at respective pixel positions selected on a print medium through single main scanning of each nozzle, and a section for supplying each ejection drive element with a drive signal indicative of the kind of a dot being formed by each nozzle of the print head in response to a print signal. The drive signal supply section can generates N kinds of first drive signal required for forming a dot using dye ink, and N kinds of second drive signal required for forming a dot using pigment ink. At least one of N kinds of first drive signal has a waveform different from that of the corresponding one of N kinds of second drive signal. |
