PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control driving of an air pressurizing pump properly in a recorder where ink is supplied from an ink cartridge to the side of a recording head carried on a carriage by pneumatic pressure generated from an air pressurizing pump. SOLUTION: A pressure detector 23 for detecting the pressure of pressurized air is provided in an air channel between an air pressurizing pump 21 and an ink cartridge 9. When the pressure level detected by the pressure detector does not reach a specified level, the air pressurizing pump 21 is controlled to be driven and when the pressure level detected by the pressure detector reaches the specified level, the air pressurizing pump 21 is controlled to be stopped upon elapsing a predetermined time. Consequently, a problem that driving and stoppage of the air pressurizing pump 21 is repeated frequently can be eliminated. |
